Setahun yang lalu, Samsung menghadirkan empat seri ponsel Androidnya,  Galaxy Ace, Galaxy Gio, Galaxy Mini, dan Galaxy Fit.

Galaxy Ace adalah yang terbaik di antara empat spesifikasi dari ponsel Android. Dan untuk alasan ini, Samsung Galaxy Ace menjadi salah satu pasar terbaik dalam penjualan ponsel Samsung, khususnya di Indonesia.

Samsung Galaxy Ace datang dengan layar sedikit lebih besar dari 3,65 inci dan prosesor 1 GHz. Sayangnya, ponsel ini hanya teknologi yang didukung dengan resolusi HVGA (320×480 piksel), yang tampaknya kurang bagus pada layar yang lebih besar. Ace Galaxy Plus juga masih menggunakan Gingerbread, tidak mengetahui jika akan mendapatkan update Ice Cream Sandwich.

Handset ini akan sedikit lebih bulat dari versi Ace sebelumnya. Ace Plus tampaknya meminjam tampilan dari Samsung Galaxy Y, dan tidak lagi mirip dengan iPhone. Google announced an impressive achievement for its mobile OS today – the ten billionth app download in its Android Market.

While the milestone is impressive enough on its own, it is the rate of growth which is truly staggering – four billion of the downloads have taken place in the last six months alone. See the graphic below.

To celebrate the accomplishment, Google put a number of popular apps and games on sale in the market for only ten pennies, so if you are an Android OS user, go ahead and start shopping!

The Nokia Lumia 800 has been available in the UK since last month and now all eyes are on its fellow Lumia 701, which shared the same stage at Nokia World couple of months back.

Back then Stephen Elop announced that the Lumia 710 will be broadly available in the first quarter of 2012 and, while we all hoped its launch stayed in the boundaries of this year, we might see it hit stores in the first days of January. That is according to UK online retailer Digital Phone, which has marked the Windows Phone Mango smartphone to become available on January 6.

Don’t get your hopes too high, though, as this could turn out to be just a blindshot, as neither Nokia has confirmed the date, nor other online retailers have put particular dates on the device just yet. Pricing on the Lumia 710 is still anyone’s guess, but first things first, let it first launch and talk prices afterwards.

The battle for the thinnest smartphone continues. But while the others were fighting, the Fujitsu Arrows F-07D managed to slip through the gaps and took the crown for the world’s thinnest smartphone. For the moment, at least.

It manages to achieve this by being just 6.6mm thick. Also, unlike some of the other thin phones that came out recently, such as the Motorola RAZR and the Samsung Galaxy S II, the Arrow is actually uniformly thick without any bulges.

Inside that super slim body is a 4-inch, 854 x 480 resolution display with Corning’s Gorilla Glass protection, single-core 1.4GHz Snapdragon processor, 512MB of RAM and 1GB internal storage. The phone runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

The Fujitsu Arrows F-07D will be available in Japan in 2012 on the NTT DoCoMo network.

If you live in Germany and have been waiting for a white colored version of Samsung’s latest Android smartphones then you’re in luck. Because this Christmas Samsung will be making your wish come true.

Apart from the new color scheme though, there is not much else new on these devices, with both the specifications and the pricing remaining the same.

Samsung’s latest ad for their Galaxy S II strikes hard at Apple fans as if the South Korean manufacturers wants to get even for the latest patent infringement cases Apple won in Germany. The scenario in the video is played out in front of an apparent Apple store that will open in 9 hours and, most likely, start selling a new iPhone.

Apparently, according to Samsung Apple’s die-hard fans consist of hipster, “creative” folk and they line up in wait of the new iDevice – which, as you can imagine, is prime material for abuse in a comic form.
